A study and inspiration trip with recognised experts to Bavaria is very timely. The national government is currently working on a national beaver strategy. Regional beaver management in the north of the Netherlands is also being revised. It is inevitable that efforts will be needed to optimise the positive impact of beavers, to continue to guarantee safety, and to prevent unnecessary cost increases. With regard to these topics, there is much to learn from the people we will travel with in Bavaria. Throughout the trip, links will be made to how this knowledge can be applied to the Dutch situation.
