Marc Wilbers

Co-Founder & Head of Educational Programming

Marc Wilbers is a naturalist specialising in wolf behaviour, with a lifelong commitment to understanding, protecting, and restoring wildlife ecosystems. His work focuses on large carnivores and the vital role they play in healthy, balanced landscapes.

Marc has been instrumental in public education following the return of the wolf to the Netherlands. Through lectures, guided field excursions, and educational programmes, he has helped inform communities, land managers, and policymakers about wolf behaviour, ecology, and coexistence with humans. His approach bridges scientific insight with practical understanding, helping to reduce misconceptions and support informed, constructive dialogue.

Alongside his educational work, Marc collaborates closely with conservation organisations, researchers, and local communities to promote evidence-based wildlife management. A strong advocate for coexistence, he emphasises respect for natural processes and the importance of biodiversity in resilient ecosystems.

As Co-Founder and Head of Educational Programming at the Call of the Wild Network, Marc plays a central role in shaping learning initiatives that connect people with nature and deepen understanding of Europe’s evolving relationship with large predators.
